# What's new on Cloud Backend for developers!

We are very excited to announce the arrival of 3 new features that will be very useful to our users:

- **Creating indexes in the tables of your cloud database**. You now have the possibility to optimize the performance of your SQL queries by 1000, thanks to the creation of indexes. (Cloud backend> database> open a table> icon arrow> configure indexes)

- We have also **introduced environment variables on cloud functions**. The goal is to allow you to specify your configuration and secret information (API key and password for example) in environment variables rather than directly in your source code.

- **We have updated our NPM package**. Indeed, we have a new feature that now allows to send emails with attachments but also to write binary files.
